Description:

This conference will present the situation of housing precarity affecting low-income older women in Montreal, and the ways in which they resist the various pressures they face. Housing precarity is also influenced by the rental relationship with landlords or other actors who may use psychological abuse or force elderly tenants to leave their apartment. The results are based on observations and interviews conducted between 2016 and 2018 with practitioners and older tenants involved in four Montréal housing committees.
