HELPING SOMEONE IN THEIR LAST CHAPTER OF LIFE?Presentation for Caregivers on Quebec's Act on End-of-Life Care
The Community Health and Social Services Network (CHSSN) provides funding for projects that increase the access to the English-speaking community to Health and Social Services. Quebec’s Law on End-of-life care was implemented in December 2015 but remains unfamiliar to the general population. A year later, families and caregivers remain at a loss with the options of care available to them. The Leading Practice in Community Palliative Care for Seniors at Home, an affiliated research center of the CIUSSS West-Central Montreal, applied and received funding to provide presentations and training on the Act for end-of-life care.
We are pleased to offer an English presentation with a practical approach to the Montreal Caregivers who wish to increase their understanding of Law 2. The presentation will include a clinical vignette to engage the participants in a dialogue on the four components of the law:
- Access to Palliative Care
- Advance Medical Directives
- Palliative Sedation
- Medical Aid in Dying
An information package will be provided at the presentation.
In addition to community presentations and to ensure sustainability, we are offering a training for presentors.
